Who We Are?

Designer’s Point was founded in 2012 by a group of former employees from The Great Indoors, an upscale home furnishings and remodeling chain owned by Sears. By the time The Great Indoors announced they were going out of business, Dick Minar and Karen Schone had already decided they would keep the concept going and start their own business. With a vision to create a company that would offer comprehensive, custom home remodeling services, the team initially worked from Dick’s basement. By July of 2012, Designer’s Point had incorporated and found a location. Over the next few months, they transformed the space, creating the showroom and re-establishing relationships with suppliers they had worked with from the Great Indoors who they knew and trusted. In November, Designer’s Point opened its doors for customers and had its grand opening in February 2013.

Since then, Designers Point has grown into a trusted name in the home remodeling industry with its excellent services. The team currently possesses a combined experience of 135 years in the trade. With this wealth of experience and a passion for kitchen and bath remodeling, the team handles every project with expertise and precision. Designers Point prides itself in its commitment to listening to clients and providing personalized, beautiful, and functional spaces that meet the client’s unique needs. Designers Point’s success lies in its full-service approach to remodeling projects and its personalized attention to each client.
